The name nuju is a portmanteau on the phrase new jewelry.New, because we're utilizing stones created from an emerging process that moves toward more sustainable practices.New, because the improved efficiency of lab-grown technology is creatively liberating us to design in bolder, more novel ways previously deemed unattainable.New, because a rich heritage of quality craftsmanship in the jewelry industry [spanning 3 generations] precedes and guides the founder. The soul of tradition, made modern with gemstone magic.
Creative Liberation, Sustainability, and Value
We believe that every future-forward business should strive to operate more sustainably. Nuju was built on a commitment to using only lab-grown stones, produced with no additional harm to the environment.
Being more economical was a huge plus of this decision, effectively allowing us to be bolder and freer to design our pieces. We don't shy away from big gemstones, or even nature-rare gemstones, for as long as these gemstones contribute purposefully to our designs and support our vision.
Using solid gold, too, was a conscious choice. We wanted to produce jewelry that not only holds great design, but holds real value as well. Purchasing a nuju piece represents an investment in something meant to be worn for years, not seasons.
Everything nuju does is done with great thought and meaning.
Our Logo
In the world of diamonds, the term "hearts & arrows" refers to round diamonds cut to precision. These diamonds are so symmetrical and uniform that from the top view, one can see arrow shapes; when the diamond is face down, one can see heart shapes.
As a tribute to her family's jewelry business that has worked so many years dealing in diamonds, the founder wanted to take the image of hearts & arrows and infuse it with the youth and zest that nuju brings.

Padparadscha sapphires are treasured for their unique, delicate blend of pink and orange — a color often compared to a tropical sunset or lotus blossom. Their name comes from the Sinhalese word for “aquatic lotus,” and historically, they’ve been cherished across Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia for their softness and rarity.
Because of their warm, romantic glow, padparadschas have become a favorite among collectors and royalty — Princess Eugenie notably wore one in her engagement ring.

Paraiba tourmalines are one of the rarest and most mesmerizing gemstones in the world, known for their electric neon blues and greens that seem to glow from within. Discovered only in the late 1980s in Brazil, they quickly became one of the most coveted gems by collectors and designers alike.
At Nuju, we embrace their tropical energy and ethereal glow, designing pieces that feel as striking as they are wearable.

Long associated with wisdom, royalty, and divine favor, sapphires have adorned monarchs and icons for centuries. You'd have to live under a rock not to know Princess Diana’s iconic engagement ring. While blue is the most well-known, sapphires also come in a rainbow of shades.
Whether deep and moody or light and playful, each sapphire piece is crafted to feel lasting, expressive, and a little bit regal. We design with the belief that sapphires don’t just belong in crowns — they belong in everyday magic.

Emeralds have captivated hearts for centuries, prized for their rich green hue and deep symbolism. Associated with renewal, wisdom, and love, they were a favorite of Cleopatra, who adorned herself with emeralds as symbols of power and protection. In modern times, emeralds have continued to shine on red carpets — famously worn by Elizabeth Taylor, Jackie Kennedy, and Angelina Jolie.
